Rules that
apply to all divisions:
-
All
players should receive the same amount of playing time.
-
Coaches
will attempt to rotate defensive players between the
infield and outfield during the course of the game.
Each player is required to play at least one full inning
in the outfield and one full inning in the infield
during the first five innings of each game (first three
for tee ball). Coaches are encouraged to distribute
defensive position assignments equally so that players
get to experience outfield and infield positions.
Exceptions to this policy are to be reviewed by the
opposing coach and umpire prior to the game. (if players
prefer to play only outfield position, then said player
will not be forced to play an infield position).
-
Runners
may leave base only after the ball has been hit (except
Major and Pony leagues). Only one base will be given on
any overthrow. An “overthrow” is defined as a ball
crossing the “out of play” chalk line. All mishandled
balls that remain within the designated (out of
play) lines shall be live & players may advance at their
own risk.
-
The
official rules of Little League Baseball will apply in
all situations that are not covered.
Special Rules
for Coed T-Ball
-
A team
will bat all players each inning regardless of the outs
recorded against the team. All players must bat in
sequence. The home team must have last at bats no matter
the score. Teams shall not start a new inning if the
“visitor” team is batting with less than 10 minutes to
play. The last batter of the inning will be treated
like all others. He/she will not be allowed to circle
the bases unless the hit allows them to do so. If an out
is recorded during the last batter’s hit ball (during
the normal course of play), the runners stop and then
teams change sides per a normal baseball game.
-
A player
will be allowed as many attempts as necessary to cleanly
hit the ball in fair territory. Hitting the rubber tee
solidly is not a clean hit.
-
After a
ball has been cleanly hit, play is stopped when any
infielder, who is in possession of the ball steps on a
base, or stands on the inside (home plate side) of the
basepath chalk line holding the ball above his or her
head. The umpire will stop play at that time. However,
the umpire, at his discretion, may stop play if the ball
is in the possession and under the control of an
infielder, when necessary to avoid abnormal advancing of
bases.
-
After play
is stopped, runners go to the nearest base. Runners
must be past mid-point when the umpire calls timeout for
the runners to advance.
-
Outfielders must begin play at least 15 feet in back of
the baseline and cannot come inside the baseline during
play. Infielders must stand at least 2 feet outside the
base path.
-
If a
batted ball hits one of the coaches in the outfield, the
batter is awarded a ground-rule double.
-
A player
may play either pitcher and/or first base only one
inning per game (unless there are not enough players).
Each player must play in the infield one inning each
game.
-
Designated
Tee Balls will be used for all practices and games.
Special Rules
for Boys and Girls Coach Pitch
-
A
team will bat until either 3 outs or 5 runs have been
scored. If the batter drives in run #5 and the ball is
still live or in the field of play, the runners may
advance normally and may attempt to score. A maximum
number of 8 runs is allowed in a single inning under
this scenario. The limit on runs is not applicable in
the sixth inning- or the last inning as designated by
the umpire. Teams shall not start a new inning if the
“visitor” team is batting with less than 10 minutes
until next scheduled game.
(Exceptions to the 10 minute rule due to extreme late
starts should be directed to Greg Hughes or Mike Johnson
on the field.) All players must
bat in sequence regardless of whether they played in the
field.
-
Every
player must play at least every other inning. Each
player must play the first inning every other game. No
player may play the same position for more than two
innings in any game.
-
Play will
be stopped when the ball is in the possession of any
defensive player and the offensive runners are prevented
from advancing. The umpire will call the play stopped
and should do so to assure that abnormal advancing of
bases is prohibited.
-
Coaches
will be limited to 7 pitches or 4 swings per batter
whichever occurs first. No walks are permitted. A foul
ball (on the last strike) cannot end a batters at-bat.
At the conclusion of the batters ‘at bat’, the catcher
or ‘backup’ coach will remove any stray balls in the
batting box or running areas. Coaches will be allowed to
pitch underhand to batters that have been reviewed with
the opposing coach prior to the game.
Special
Rules for Girls Softball (10-12)
-
A
team will bat until either 3 outs or 5 runs have been
scores. If batter drives in run #5 and the ball is still
live or in the field of play, the runner may advance
normally and may attempt to score. A maximum number of 8
runs is allowed in a single inning under this
scenario. The limit on runs is not applicable in the
sixth inning or last inning to be played. All players
must bat in sequence regardless of whether they played
in the field. Teams shall not start a new inning if the
“visitor” team is batting with less than 10 minutes
until next scheduled game.
(Exceptions to the 10 minute rule due to extreme late
starts should be directed to Greg Hughes or Mike Johnson
on the field.)
-
Play will
be stopped when the ball is in the possession of any
defensive player and the offensive runners are prevented
from advancing. The umpire will call the play stopped
and should do so to assure that abnormal advancing of
bases is prohibited.
-
The
minimum arc of a pitch will be no less than 6 feet and
no more than 12 feet from the point of release of the
pitch by the pitcher.
Special
Rules for Boys Minor and Major League
-
(Both major and minor) A team will bat until either 3
outs or 5 runs have been scored. If the batter drives in
run #5 and the ball is still live or in the field of
play, the runner may advance normally and may attempt to
score. A maximum number of 8 runs is allowed in a single
inning under this scenario(example: 4 runs in, then
player hits grand slam). The limit on runs is not
applicable in the sixth inning or last inning determined
by the umpire All players must bat in sequence

shall not start a new inning if the “visitor” team is
batting with less than 10 minutes (Majors) / 20 Minutes
(Minors) until next scheduled
game.
(Exceptions to the 10/20 minute rule due to extreme late
starts should be directed to Greg Hughes or Mike Johnson
on the field or at the discretion of the SOAR appointed
umpire.)
-
(Minors
only) For at least the first 3 games, a coach will pitch
the first 3 innings. A player will then replace the
coach for the remainder of the innings. Coaches will be
allowed 7 pitches-3 swings batter is out ! No exceptions
and no walks will be permitted when coaches are
pitching. When the players begin pitching, no player may
pitch more than 4 innings per game. Balls and strikes
will be called as normal. There will be no infield fly
rule.
-
Each
player must play the first inning every other game. No
player may play the same position for more than:
(Coaches are encouraged to move players throughout both
infield and outfield positions)
·
3 innings in any game- position players
·
4 innings in any game- pitchers and catchers
Any
Pitcher/Catcher with 4 innings in position must be
rotated to outfield following no more than one inning of
no play.
-
Play will
be stopped when the ball is in the possession of any
defensive player and the offensive runners are prevented
from advancing. The umpire will call the play stopped
and should do so to assure that abnormal advancing of
bases is prohibited.
-
No
Stealing will be allowed in the Minor Leagues. In the
Major Leagues, leading off will be permitted and
stealing will be permitted. Runners will not be allowed

not yet reached the 4 inning limit.

maximum number of 8 runs is allowed in a single inning
under this scenario. The limit on runs is not
applicable in the sixth inning or last inning determined
